Still Life - Photo project during Covid-19 pandemic

Six photographers from Rotterdam depict the city during the coronapandemic.

Stichting Droom en Daad asked Khalid Amakran, Loes van Duijvendijk, Willem de Kam, Geisje van der Linden, Naomi Modde and Marwan Magroun to capture Rotterdam during the Covid-19 pandemic. These sixtalented Rotterdam photographers will each make a photo series that shows the unprecedented impact of the coronavirus on the city.

The national measures relating to Covid-19 have major consequences for daily life. The sixphotographers focus on capturing these consequences. Between now and the beginning of May 2020 they will each make a serie of ten images. Together, the photo series provide an overview of the current situation in Rotterdam.

The photos can be seen from 10 December 2020 until 25 April 2021 in the Kunsthal Rotterdam. At the end of the exhibition, the complete series of photos will be included in the Rotterdam City Archives.

The hardcover photo book ‘Stil leven - Still Life’, published by Hannibal Books features the complete series of all six photographers. Including an essay by writer and television maker Wilfried de Jong
